Introduction
Studimi (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is an AI-powered study platform designed for university students. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use our website and services.
By creating an account or using Studimi, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Information We Collect
We collect information that helps us provide and improve Studimi. The types of information may include:
- Account information such as your name, email address, and university profile details you choose to provide.
- Authentication data when you sign in with email and password or through supported providers such as Google or Apple.
- Study content you upload or create, including documents, flashcards, notes, quiz responses, and related metadata.
- Usage information such as pages visited, features used, device type, browser, and general interaction data.
- Technical logs used for security, debugging, and service reliability.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to operate, maintain, and improve Studimi. This includes:
- Creating and managing your account.
- Providing study features such as flashcards, quizzes, analytics, and personalized recommendations.
- Securing the platform and preventing abuse or unauthorized access.
- Communicating with you about service updates, support requests, or important account notices.
- Analyzing aggregated usage trends to improve product quality and performance.
AI Features and User Data
Studimi includes AI-powered features such as tutoring, quiz generation, study plans, and academic insights. To provide these features, relevant user content and prompts may be processed by AI systems.
We aim to use your study materials only to deliver the features you request. We do not sell your personal study content. AI outputs may be generated automatically and should be reviewed by you before relying on them for academic decisions.
You are responsible for ensuring that content you upload complies with your university policies and that you have the right to use that material within Studimi.
Authentication
Studimi supports account creation and sign-in using email and password, as well as optional sign-in with Google or Apple where enabled.
If you use Google or Apple sign-in, we receive information from those providers according to your settings with them, such as your email address and, in some cases, your name. We use that information to create or access your Studimi account.
We do not receive or store your Google or Apple account password. Passwords for email-based accounts are stored using industry-standard hashing practices.
Data Storage and Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. These measures may include encrypted connections, access controls, and secure infrastructure practices.
No online service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised.
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Third-Party Services
Studimi may rely on third-party providers to help operate the platform. These may include hosting providers, database services, analytics tools, authentication providers, and AI service providers.
These third parties may process information on our behalf only as needed to provide their services to Studimi. Their handling of data is subject to their own terms and privacy practices.
Links to external websites or services may appear within Studimi. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites you visit outside our platform.
User Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information. These may include the ability to access, update, correct, export, or delete certain data, or to object to specific processing activities.
You can update much of your profile information directly within Studimi. You may also permanently delete your account from your profile settings. Deletion removes your account and personal study data from Studimi. Limited anonymized operational and billing records may be retained without your account identifier where needed for security, accounting, or service integrity. A non-reversible email hash may also be retained solely to prevent abuse of Free AI credit allowances after account deletion.
For other requests, contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe, subject to applicable law.
If you are a student, you should also review your university’s policies regarding academic materials and personal data.
